PPS Manufacturing – the first factory for nitrile gloves in Europe will be in Plovdiv
PPS Manufacturing – the first company producer of nitrile gloves in Europe will begin operations in Bulgaria. This was announced at an official ceremony where the company was awarded with a certificate „Class A“ in the City of the Hills. The investment in the project will exceed 10 million BGN and will create over 100 new jobs in the region.
The formal event was attended by Zdravko Dimitrov, Mayor of Plovdiv, Stamen Yanev, Executive Director of InvestBulgaria Agency, Georgi Petkov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PPS Manufacturing and other key media and diplomacy representatives.
The new factory is a unique for Bulgaria and all of Europe project, as currently there is no production of nitrile gloves for the industrial, food and general use sectors and the opportunity to create such an enterprise in the country, especially during a pandemic, will provide great economic advantage for Bulgaria and the EU.
„I am extremely proud that this project will be implemented in Bulgaria. The investment is entirely Bulgarian, without the participation of foreign institutions, with the assistance of the Sustainable Cities Fund. This factory will be unique for Europe because at the moment there is no such production on the continent. With the establishment of PPS Manufacturing we’re aiming to reduce the EU’s dependence on Asian producers and position Bulgaria as a preferred manufacturer of personal protective equipment“, said Georgi Petkov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PPS Manufacturing.
„This is the first factory of this kind in Europe and it will set an example. The fact that it is in Plovdiv makes me even happier. We support important projects that ease the life of citizens and businesses, so that the government can continue its work and attract more investments. I’d like to wish the best of luck to PPS Manufacturing, in which I am confident“, said Zdravko Dimitrov, mayor of Plovdiv.
„About a year back this was one of the first projects aimed at limiting the effects of the pandemic. We all took care with the appropriate protective materials. Going along with this, the investment is serios, high-tech. InvestBulgaria Agency will support it, so the approved business plan can be implemented on time“, said Stamen Yanev, Executive Director of InvestBulgaria Agency.
The new factory will be located in a communicative location – Kuklensko Shose Blvd. in Plovdiv. To speed up the adoption of new technologies and launch production, international chemical engineers will be invited to train local staff and support the start of production. An R&D lab is also planned for research and production tests. The products will be tested in a European certified lab and will be certified by a European body.
The new PPS Manufacturing plant is expected to begin operations in the fall of 2021.
